    Axemen M/C was founded in 1998 by Bob Roths of the Inkster Michigan Fire Department.  Originally, there were 12 founding members whose purpose was to have a club exclusive to IAFF members, active or retired.  Since then, additional chapters have formed in several parts of Michigan, Ohio, Washington, and New York.

    The Rochester chapter of the Axemen was formed in 2004, and is the first in New York State.  The Rochester chapter was formed by firefighters from the city of Rochester, IAFF Local 1071.  Since then the chapter has grown and now includes firefighters from other departments as well. To date, our membership numbers over thirty, and includes not only members of the Rochester Fire Department, but also the Henrietta Fire District, IAFF Local 3738.
