    Axemen M/C was founded in 1998 by Bob Roths of the Inkster Michigan Fire Department.  Originally, there were 12 founding members whose purpose was to have a club exclusive to IAFF members, active or retired.  Since then, additional chapters have formed in several parts of Michigan, Ohio, Washington, Illinois and New York.

    The Rochester chapter of the Axemen was formed in 2004, by ten firefighters from Local 1071, and is the first in New York State.  Since its inception, we have participated in, and aided with a number of local rides.  Among these rides are the "Ride with the Eagles", "Operation Patriot" and "America's 911 Ride".  Over the last two years our chapter has grown and now includes firefighters from other departments as well. To date, our membership numbers over thirty, and includes not only members of the Rochester Fire Department, but also the Henrietta Fire District, IAFF Local 3738.  We are proud supporters of the Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association, and provide assistance to firefighters and their families in the event of a significant illness or injury.

Our mission;

To promote our firefighting profession by engaging in acts of "good citizenship" while contributing to charitable organizations and events.
